We’re kicking off March as we do every year, with a tip of our hat to Dr. Seuss. It’s Read Across America Week and, Wednesday happens to be Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Theodor Seuss Geisel would have been 118 this year. We think his whimsical, rhyming stories have stood the test of time. Please check the calendar for all the Seuss-y fun this week.
School Begins at 8:30 a.m.
Please remember that instructional time begins by 9:00 a.m. in ALL classes. It’s very important that children arrive by 8:30 a.m. for morning snack and circle times.
Meal Time Changes
The morning snack will now begin at 8:30 a.m. Lunches will begin at 11:00 a.m. with our older preschooler and pre-k students lunching at 11:30 a.m. We believe this will better accommodate morning meetings and circle times.
Masking Optional
Beginning Monday, March 7th, 2022, masking will be optional. Please respect the choices of our staff members. Some may still choose to wear a mask.

Holi Celebration
Friday, March 18th we will celebrate the Hindu festival known as Holi. Holi marks the beginning of spring and the blossoming of love. We ask that students come to school in inexpensive, white clothing and shoes. They will come home a riot of color. This is one of the most fun days here at La Mere!
We buy high-quality, non-toxic Holi powder. In our experience, this powder mostly washes out. If your child is extremely blonde, we recommend a leave-in conditioner in their hair on this day.
Dinner To Go
If you have not yet participated in a dinner to go from our chefs, you are missing out! This is the best Monday night tradition. Great food, no stress.
Monday, March 7th. Ready for pick at or after 4 p.m. Feeds a family of 4. $50 in cash. Please pay chefs directly.
